Conservation Art Show

Hosted by the SC Coastal Conservation League during the 2007 Beaufort Kaleidoscope Festival in Beaufort, SC. February 23 & 24 from 10 am until 5 pm at the historic Beaufort Arsenal.

2006 Piccolo Spoleto Festival Event
Wild Things & Wonder with NatureScene's Rudy Mancke

Naturalist Rudy Mancke, host of ETV's Nature Scene and Distinguished Lecturer at the University of South Carolina's School of the Environment, will reveal the mysteries of native and endangered wildflowers as he takes viewers on a journey through lush oil paintings of South Carolina's fauna by award-winning artist Honor Marks. Hosted by the SC Coastal Conservation League to raise awareness about endangered species and the habitats in which these species live. Wednesday, May 31 at 7pm. Circular Congregational Church (sanctuary), downtown Charleston. Admission Free.

Wild Things & Wonder
This exhibit featuring 40 of my paintings celebrates native and endangered plant species. Hosted by the Coastal Community Foundation in conjunction with the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League, South Carolina Native Plant Society, and the Charleston Horticultural Society, the show opens December 2, 2005. The reception that evening from 5:30-8:00 pm is open to the public. The exhibit runs through January 29, 2006. Stop by and spend some time in this exceptional gallery which overlooks Charleston Harbor.

2005 Lowcountry Artist's Award
I have been given the tremendous honor of receiving the 2005 Michael and Donna Griffith Lowcountry Artist's Award. The monetary award is administered by the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina and is intended as a living stipend during the creation of a work of art that represents an aspect of South Carolina's Lowcounty. The painting I will create is a trio of 24 x 36 canvases representing three endangered plant species native to the Lowcountry. My grant proposal for the Griffith Award included a written passage which you can find here.

I am the featured artist in the Morris Museum of Art's Gala Preview Exhibit. The show is on Thursday, February 26, 2004 from 6-8 at Windsor Jewelers.

Spartanburg County Museum of Art
My painting "Promise" was accepted into Spartanburg County Museum of Art's "Hub City Juried Art Exhibition" judged by nationally renowned artist Burt Silverman. The exhibit opens November 13 and runs through December 30, 2003.

The University Art Gallery at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee is featuring three practicing professional artists exhibiting new work at their alma mater: Terrell James (monoprints), Honor Marks (paintings), Alice Sebrell (sculpture). The exhibit runs through November 26, 2003.

Best in Show
I received the Mayor's Award (Best in Show) for the 2003 Piccolo Spoleto Juried Outdoor Art Exhibit. The painting "Amaryllis" was purchased by the City of Charleston and will hang in the Mayor's office this year. The judge of this year's exhibit is the director of the The Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, GA.
